It will be 90-degree rule today.
You will notice that we have installed new rope near some greens and some tees. It's that time of year again when the bermuda will begin to slow down due to the longer nights and cooler temperatures to come. The ropes are to protect these areas from wearing out from cart traffic. There may be more rope added if I see more areas beginning to wear out. The rope will remain in place until next year's growing season.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO REPAIR YOUR BALL MARKS AND RAKE YOUR BUNKER SHOTS.
The club has purchased a newer mower for the rough. It is a John Deere 9009A. It can mow all the rough on the course in one day without any delays. That's 3 times faster than the one we replaced. This will allow us to do more detail work around the course.
We will be adding more fescue areas this Fall, around tees and other areas we desire, to continue to improve the beauty and the look of the course.
Mid to late September, we will pre-emerge the course for poa annua.
In October, we will bore a new irrigation line under the creek at #2 and #9.
This Fall, we will re-construct the right fairway bunker on #8 to the desired design that will help us maintain the new bunkers more efficiently. It is a test to decide what direction we want to move if future bunker construction is determined.
